Velocity Transfer Bonus: Up to 20% Bonus Points In August 2026
Velocity just dropped their latest Velocity transfer bonus!
Velocity Frequent Flyer regularly runs transfer bonus promotions, giving you more Velocity Points when you transfer from bank and retail partners. These offers are a good opportunity to extract better value from your flexible rewards points, especially if your Velocity balance is looking a little tired, or you have a specific reward flight in mind.
In the right situation, a well-timed Velocity transfer can help you reach a redemption sooner and reduce the number of points you’ll need to spend. That said, timing matters. The value of a transfer bonus promotion depends on how you plan to use your points and whether you’re ready to redeem in the near future.
15-20% Bonus Velocity Points On Bank Transfers (August/September 2026)
Just over a month since the last bank rewards transfer bonus, Velocity has dropped another offer! This one lands suspiciously close to 1 October, when credit card reforms are set to gut rewards programs across Australia.
From 1 August to 30 September 2026, you can earn 15% bonus Velocity Points on manual transfers, or 20% for Auto Transfers, from participating credit card rewards partners.

To get the maximum 20% bonus, you need to opt into Auto Transfer during the offer period, and stay opted in until at least 30 September. If you have already turned on Auto Transfer before 31 July 2026, you won't be eligible for bonus points.
The 15% manual bonus works differently. You'll need to make at least one manual transfer in August, plus another one in September. If you miss a month, you will not earn bonus Velocity Points.
For the manual transfer bonus, you can choose to transfer from the same or seperate partners in both August and September 2026, and still receive a bonus.
How to earn the manual transfer bonus
- Log in to your bank rewards account and confirm your Velocity number is linked.
- Manually transfer points to Velocity at least once in August 2026.
- Manually transfer points to Velocity at least once in September 2026.
- Bonus points should be credited by 31 October 2026.
How to earn the Auto Transfer bonus
- Log in to your eligible bank rewards account.
- Opt in to Auto Transfer (or Auto-Redemption) to Velocity.
- Keep Auto Transfer switched on until at least 30 September 2026.
- Bonus points should be credited by 31 October 2026.
Up To 1,000 Bonus Points On Flybuys Transfers (August 2026)
From 3 to 31 August 2026, Velocity Frequent Flyer and Flybuys are offering a tiny bonus when converting Flybuys Points to Velocity Points. This offer pops up regularly and is not that exciting, with a maximum of just 1,000 bonus points split across Flybuys and Velocity.
- Manual Transfer: 250 bonus Flybuys Points + 250 bonus Velocity Points
- Auto Transfer: 500 bonus Flybuys Points + 500 bonus Velocity Points
To receive the higher bonus, this must be your first ever Auto Transfer from Flybuys to Velocity. Unfortunately, there is no simple way to check if you have never used Auto Transfer before.
The smaller manual transfer bonus is open to all members, regardless of whether you’ve manually transferred points before.
There is no need to activate this offer, but members can only receive one allocation of bonus points during the promotion. The transfer bonus will apply to the first eligible transfer that you complete during the promotion period.
Flybuys Manual Transfer Bonus
If you choose to transfer points manually, you’ll receive 250 bonus Flybuys Points and 250 bonus Velocity Points on your first eligible transfer during the promotion period. This option is available even if you’ve transferred points before.
How to get the manual transfer bonus:
- Log in to your Flybuys account and ensure your Velocity account is linked.
- Select a manual transfer of at least 1,000 Flybuys Points.
- Complete the transfer between 3 and 31 August 2026.
- Bonus points should be credited after the promotion ends.
Flybuys Auto Transfer Bonus
If you set up Auto Transfer for the first time, you’ll receive 500 bonus Flybuys Points and 500 bonus Velocity Points. This offer is only available if you have never completed an Auto Transfer before, and you must remain opted in until the end of the promotion.
How to get the auto transfer bonus:
- Log in to your Flybuys account.
- Locate Velocity on the ‘Partners’ screen and turn on Auto Transfer.
- Ensure at least 1,000 Flybuys Points are transferred automatically between 3 and 31 August 2026.
- Keep Auto Transfer active until at least 31 August 2026.
- Bonus points should be credited after the promotion ends.
Should I Transfer My Points To Velocity?
We love Velocity's regular transfer bonus promotions. These offers are a great way to maximise the value of your flexible reward points, especially if you have a specific flight redemption in mind.
We do still advise against transferring points to Velocity just because there is a bonus running, as this will wipe the flexibility of holding bank reward points. As soon as you make that transfer, you’re restricted to Velocity, as opposed to having the option to send bank rewards elsewhere when a Business Class Reward Seat pops up with another frequent flyer scheme.
That said, if the bonus is tempting enough, a speculative transfer could prove worthwhile.
When A Transfer Makes Sense
1. You’re ready to book a Velocity reward flight
This is the ideal scenario. If you’ve already found reward seat availability and just need more Velocity Points, transferring with a bonus effectively reduces the cost of your booking.
2. The transfer bonus is strong and you’ll redeem soon
If the Velocity transfer bonus is generous, it could justify moving points even without a booking lined up. It’s still a good idea to have a plan, whether that’s a specific route, airline partner, or reward flight you’re aiming to book in the near future.
3. You’re transferring from programs that only convert to Velocity
For programs like Flybuys, your transfer options are already limited. In this case, transferring to Velocity during a bonus is a straightforward way to extract more value from points you were likely to move anyway.
When To Avoid Transfers
1. You don’t have a clear redemption plan
Transferring points to Velocity without a specific use in mind is one of the most common mistakes. If you haven’t researched routes, airline partners, or reward seat availability, you might be taking on unnecessary risk.
2. You’re transferring just to get the bonus
A Velocity transfer bonus can look appealing, but it shouldn’t be the only reason you move your points, especially when these offers appear regularly.
3. You want to keep flexibility across frequent flyer programs
Flexible bank reward points can be transferred to multiple airline programs. Once you transfer points to Velocity, that flexibility is gone. and you may miss out on better-value redemptions with other airlines.
4. You’re unlikely to use your Velocity Points soon
If you don’t plan to book a reward flight in the near future, transferring now exposes you to devaluations and missed opportunities. While bank programs can also devalue, they typically provide some notice, and keeping points with the bank gives you the flexibility to transfer your points to whichever program offers the best value at the time.
