Velocity Partner Transfer Offer May 2023: Up To 20% Bonus Points

Your next holiday is just a transfer away thanks to Velocity Frequent Flyer’s latest boost to partner transfers. Enjoy up to 20% bonus points when you transfer your credit card or hotel rewards points into Velocity Points. If you’re eligible, you could even receive 20% of the Velocity Points used to book flights rebated back to your frequent flyer account!

The loyalty program of Virgin Australia generally runs twice-yearly points transfer bonuses, most often in May and November. While the norm is to offer a bonus on top of transferred points, this time Velocity is running three targeted promotions. That means you’ll only be eligible for one of the three offers below. To check which offer you’ve received, simply review your email inbox.

Here’s everything you need to know about Velocity Frequent Flyer’s latest partner transfer promotion in May 2023.

Offer One: 15%-20% Bonus On Partner Transfers

The first of three offers is what most Velocity members can expect to find in their email inboxes. It’s a straightforward bonus offer on points transferred from eligible credit card rewards partners. Simply send points from a listed baking or hotel program to Velocity Frequent Flyer by 31 May 2023.

If you hold a premium American Express card including the Platinum, Platinum Business or Centurion you will receive a 20% bonus on transfers from Membership Rewards. For all other listed partners, you could score a 15% bonus on transfers. It’s not the best offer we’ve seen, but you are better off with fifteen per cent than no bonus! Offer Two: 17% Redemption Rebate Or 15% Bonus Points

The second offer you could receive is a choice between a bonus on credit card transfers or scoring points back on a Virgin Australia flight redemption. Unfortunately, this offer is much more restrictive than what we have seen in the past, with only seven banking partners from whom you transfer.

1) Receive 17% of the points used on a flight redemption back to your Velocity account
Book flights with Virgin Australia using your Velocity Points for payment by 15 June 2023, for travel before 15 September 2023. Once you’ve flown, Velocity will credit 17% of the points you redeemed back into your account.

If you select this offer it will apply to the first Virgin Australia-operated flights booked after making your selection. You can choose to book a Velocity Reward Seat or pay for any flight using Points + Pay. This offer is valid for one booking only and excludes itineraries for travel with partner airlines or Virgin Australia codeshare flights. If you make a booking for multiple guests, only the Velocity member who purchased the fare will receive the rebated Velocity Points.

2) Receive 15% bonus Velocity Points on partner transfers

If you select this offer, Velocity will send you a 15% bonus on top of the points you receive from transferring credit card reward points to Velocity. Unfortunately, the list of banking partners is significantly shorter than what members would receive under offer one, and all hotel partners are excluded.

There is no limit to the amount of credit card rewards points you can transfer, but be sure to do so before 31 May 2023. Any points transferred to Velocity via auto-redemption or auto-sweep programs are not eligible to receive bonus points. Your bonus is calculated on the accumulated total of Velocity Points received by 30 June 2023.

If you have received an email offering a choice between the below options, be sure to make your selection within that email by 31 May 2023. Before receiving your chosen bonus offer, you will need to transfer credit card points to Velocity from one of the eligible banking partners listed below. You can transfer from;

Offer Three: 15% to 20% Redemption Rebate

The final offer appears to have been sent to most members who hold a credit card that earns Velocity Points directly or via an auto-sweep feature. If you have received this offer, you could score 15% or 20% of the points used to make a Virgin Australia flight booking back into your frequent flyer account.

Simply book a flight with Virgin Australia using your Velocity Points for payment by 15 June 2023, for travel before 15 September 2023. Once you’ve flown, Velocity will credit up to 20% of the points you redeemed back into your account. You can choose to book a Velocity Reward Seat or pay for any flight using Points + Pay. This offer is valid for one booking only and excludes itineraries for travel with partner airlines or Virgin Australia codeshare flights. If you make a booking for multiple guests, only the Velocity member who purchased the fare will receive the rebated Velocity Points.
