Almost every week, Coles and Woolworths release bonus points offers when purchasing gift cards. These promotions are one of the easiest ways to rack up thousands of frequent flyer points, on purchases you’d make anyway. Gift card offers drop each Wednesday, in line with the latest catalogue specials for the week.

Sometimes these deals are so popular that frequent flyers are practically camped outside the supermarket before the doors open, ready to battle it out over a plastic rectangle. With offers regularly including 20x bonus points on Apple, Google Play and Uber gift cards, as well as prepaid Mastercard and Visa options, which can be used just about anywhere, it’s no wonder shoppers are willing to line up.

Of course, Everyday Rewards Points can be converted to Qantas Points, and Flybuys Points can be sent across to Velocity Points. Both transfer at a 2:1 ratio and offer auto-sweep features so you don’t have to lift a finger.

Coles: 2,000 Flybuys On Prepaid Mastercard

This week, you can earn 2,000 bonus Flybuys points on the purple $100 and yellow $250 Coles Mastercard Gift Cards. A $5 purchase fee applies to the $100 card, with a $7 purchase fee on $250 card.

These offers are incredibly popular and used to pop up frequently in 2024, but this is only the fourth time we have seen this promo in 2025.

These prepaid cards can be used nearly anywhere Mastercard is accepted, both in-store and online. Although it was previously offered, these cards can not be used to pay ATO bills.

By purchasing the maximum of five $100 gift cards, you would pay a total of $25 in purchase fees and earn 10,525 Flybuys Points. That’s more than $50 worth of Flybuys Dollars, and because Flybuys is partnered with Velocity Frequent Flyer, those points can be converted into 5,262 Velocity Points.

Important: This offer begins on a Thursday for some reason (normally it's Wednesday), which also happens to be Christmas Day. All Coles stores will be closed for Christmas, meaning you can't purchase these gift cards until 26 December.
