Accor All has just launched another fast track challenge for those who have Accor Plus Silver. If you remember, last year, Accor All launched a similar challenge, offering some bonus nights depending on your status.
This time around, the promo is slightly different. Here’s how it will work:
- First off, you need to register – click here to access
- According to the T&C, the promo is open to those with Accor Plus — if you have an American Express Platinum or Platinum Business card, you get free access to the Accor Plus Program.
- Once registered, Silver members will get 10 bonus nights credited, Gold members earn 15 nights after completing 1 stay (the one stay SHOULD also get you 2 Status Nights and double points).
- Each stay you complete between February 15 and August 31 will earn 2 X Status Nights.
- For Silver Members, it would take 10 nights to reach Gold and 18 nights to reach Platinum (according to Accor).
Things Get Confusing
On the landing page, it appears that you need 10 nights for Gold and 18 Nights for Platinum. However, if you run the numbers, the 18 nights don’t make sense if you start from Silver. Here’s why:
Silver members get: 10 nights credited. To get Platinum, you need 60 nights. 60-10= 50 and 50/2 (double status nights) = 25 nights from Silver to Platinum.
I Think I Figured It Out…
Considering the promo is only open for Accor Plus members, we can assume you are Silver to start with. This means after your first stay; you get 2 nights + the 10 nights towards Gold for a total of 12 nights. Once you got those, all you need is 9 more nights (earned at 2X under the promo), resulting in 18 nights. Simple math tells us: 18+12=30.
Ok, cool, now we’re halfway to Platinum!
We will be Accor ALL Gold for the next stay, which means we should get the 15 bonus nights after one more stay. Since one stay credits you 2 nights, we will end up with 17 nights. To summarise, now we’re at 47 nights total (from staying 11 nights).
At 47, the homestretch is in sight, and we’ll only need 13 more nights which we will get by staying just 7 nights. In the end, Accor ALL Platinum can ben achieve with 18 physical stays resulting in 61 status nights, which happens to match the landing page details!
Could they make it more confusing? Probably! It’s the Accor way 😉
Summing Up – Worth it?
For Gold, no! It’s not worth staying 10 nights. You can easily buy Accor Gold which comes free with Ibis Business card, which is significantly cheaper than staying 10 nights.
For Platinum status, I’m slightly tempted… considering I’ve already had status extended for Hilton, Bonvoy and just reached Hyatt Globalist 25 nights or 18 nights (depending on how you look at it) could be worth it if the price is right.
