The Qantas Ultimate Card by American Express is one of the most popular cards in the market, and with good reason! For starters, it comes with a $450 Qantas travel credit each year you hold the card; this benefit alone completely offsets the annual fee, which is also $450. From there, the benefits are extra, and they add up! Of course, you also earn points on every single dollar you spend using your card (which adds up fast!)

The standard sign-up bonus for the Qantas Ultimate Card is 55,000 Qantas Frequent Flyer Points which we value at an acceptable $550. However, for a limited time, the sign-up bonus has been increased to 120,000 Qantas Frequent Flyer Points (valued at $1,200), and if that wasn’t enough, there are also 120 status credits in addition to this.
What’s the catch, you may ask? You need to keep in mind only a few things: you must apply by 15 June 2021, get approved, and meet the minimum spend criteria of $4,500 in the first 3 months. If you’re already an Amex Card Member, you’re out of luck. This offer is available to new Card Members only.

Who’s Considered A New Card Member?
As per the American Express terms and conditions, a new card member is someone who hasn’t had an Amex account in their name for the last 18 months. Of course, if you are a supplementary card holder on someone else’s account, you are eligible for the sign-up bonus. The same is true if you hold a corporate Amex card or you have a card issued by your employer.
Boost Your Points Further
All new Amex Members will also be able to save the current Shop Small (learn more about this here) offer to their new card. This means you will earn an additional 3 points on every dollar spent with participating retailers. All you need to do is save the offer to your eligible Card and get 3 extra Qantas Points per $1 spent, in-store or online at participating Shop Small businesses by 31/03/2022, up to a maximum of 40,000 extra Points. Exclusions apply
Why Start Building Your Qantas Points Balance Now?
It’s fair to say that travel has sucked for the last 12+ months, but unless you’re a full-time pessimist, this won’t be the case forever. 2022 will likely be the year we can finally travel again, so now is the perfect time to either start saving points for a big trip or boost your balance further.
Since bookings for reward flights open 12 months in advance, it would be a smart play to start planning your European/US/Asia/ME trips for summer 2022 in a few months. Of course, doing so in style flying business or first class with points is the ultimate goal! Considering points, bookings are highly flexible; it’s one of the safest ways to book in uncertain times.

Is This A Good Deal? Yes!
We might be biased (after all we do earn a small commission when you sign up to one of the offers on our site; thank you!) but the Qantas Ultimate Card with 120,000 bonus points and 120 status credits is one of the best (if not the best) offer we’ve seen to date. It’s especially valuable for those that are looking to reach the next tier or maintain their status with Qantas Frequent Flyer.
