You Can Now Book Philippine Airlines Flights With Qantas Points
Qantas unlocks 15 new island destinations via Philippine Airlines
Qantas Frequent Flyers now have more ways to reach Southeast Asia and beyond, with Qantas and Philippine Airlines today launching a new strategic partnership. The agreement allows members to redeem Qantas Points for Classic Reward seats across the entire Philippine Airlines network.
The partnership unlocks access to 15 new destinations across the Philippines, such as Boracay, Cebu and Palawan. It also improves redemption opportunities to Asia, North America and the Middle East.
Philippine Airlines already operates 22 weekly flights between Australia and their Manila hub, including daily services from Sydney and Brisbane using Airbus A330 aircraft. Members can book Classic Reward seats in Business, Premium Economy and Economy with Philippine Airlines as of 28 May 2026.
Qantas Loyalty CEO Andrew Glance said members can now build an entire Philippines island-hopping itinerary using Qantas Points.
"Many members want their points to take them further than just the major hubs. Partnering with Philippine Airlines opens up more of Asia and adds 15 destinations previously missing from our partner network.”
Qantas claims that these new Philippine Airlines reward seats will add to the 20 million seats available to book across Qantas, Jetstar and 30 partner airlines. The Flying Kangaroo has seen a doubling in the number of Classic Reward seats booked through partner airlines in the last five years.

How To Book Philippine Airlines Flights Using Qantas Points
As of 28 May 2026, Qantas Frequent Flyers can use their Qantas Points to redeem Classic Reward seats across the entire Philippine Airlines network. Philippine Airlines redemptions are priced using the Partner Classic Flight Reward Table, and members can redeem points for travel in Economy, Premium Economy and Business Class.
Here’s a look at how many Qantas Points you’d need for a few example bookings.
Note: ‘Australia’ in the table above indicates Philippine Airlines’ Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney flights.
There are a few interesting sweet spots here, particularly for travel in Zone 5 of the Partner Reward Table, which covers redemptions between 3,601 and 4,800 miles. This zone includes direct flights from Melbourne and Sydney to Manila. However, because pricing is based on total distance travelled, you can also add a short connecting flight within the same reward band without paying any extra Qantas Points.
For example, travellers departing Sydney could connect in Manila before continuing onwards to domestic destinations within the Philippines, or internationally to cities such as Da Nang, Hong Kong and Taipei, all while remaining within the same Zone 5 pricing band.

How To Book A Qantas Classic Reward
Provided you have enough Qantas Points in your account, here’s how to make a points booking.
- For the best experience, head to Qantas' multi-city booking page, and ensure you are logged into your Qantas account
- Click ‘book with Rewards’ then enter your departure city, destination, and date
- Ensure you select ‘Flexible with dates for all flights’ from the date picker
- Press ‘Search flights’ to see a whole month's worth of award seats
- Locate your preferred Classic Reward and continue through to booking
If you’re struggling to find reward availability, try using a third-party search tool like Gyoza Flights or Seats Aero. These platforms can make it significantly easier to search for reward seats across a range of dates, particularly when availability does not appear easily through the Qantas website.
Members can also search for reward availability in seconds using Qantas’ new Classic Reward Search Tool, which launched in March 2026. This tool is pretty impressive, and although it doesn’t have quite as many features as third-party tools, it is still incredibly powerful.

Summing Up: My Take
Overall, I think this is a genuinely useful addition for Qantas Frequent Flyers. The biggest benefit is simply more reward availability, particularly across Southeast Asia. There are also several interesting sweet spots now possible through Manila, thanks to the way the Qantas Partner Classic Flight Reward table is structured.
The timing is also somewhat amusing. Just last week, Philippine Airlines announced an expanded loyalty partnership with fellow Oneworld member, and Qantas arch-rival, Qatar Airways. Seeing Qantas strike its own partnership with Philippine Airlines just days later inevitably raises questions about whether the Philippine flag carrier could eventually be heading towards a Oneworld membership bid.
Ultimately, more partner airlines and more redemption opportunities are a win for points collectors, especially when it opens up destinations that were previously difficult or impossible to reach using Qantas Points.
