Back in September 2019, Qantas and BP Australia announced a new partnership that would introduce BP Rewards, a new BP customer loyalty program allowing members to earn Qantas Points on fuel and eligible in-store purchases.
While the full details of the partnership are expected to be finalised within the next few months, Qantas and BP have already launched the first stage of their partnership, a connection between Qantas Business Rewards and BP Plus.
Qantas Business Rewards and BP Plus
Qantas Business Rewards is now the exclusive loyalty partner of BP Plus. Aimed at corporate fleets, the BP Plus fuel card offers fuel discounts plus a single monthly invoice. By linking your Qantas Business Rewards account to a BP Plus card you can earn Qantas Points at the following rates:
- 1 Qantas Point for every litre of Ultimate 98
- 1 Qantas Point for every 2 litres of 91, 95, Diesel and Ultimate Diesel
- 1 Qantas Point for every $1 spent on eligible in-store purchases
Plus BP Plus members receive the following ongoing fuel discounts:
- 3c per litre discount on BP Ultimate, Premium Unleaded & BP Ultimate Diesel
- 2c per litre discount on regular Unleaded and Diesel
BP Plus is free to join, although there is a monthly fee of $4.95 per card for 1-2 cards or $2.20 per card for 3 or more cards. Although Qantas Business Rewards normally incurs a $89.50 joining fee, you can join for free via BP Plus.
BP Plus Signup Bonus: Up to 100,000 Qantas Points
By signing up for a BP Plus account by 30 April 2020, you can earn up to 100,000 bonus Qantas points. You can earn 50,000 Qantas Points by spending $150 per month on fuel over five consecutive months, and an additional 50,000 Qantas Points for purchasing over 20,000 litres of fuel within the first six months.

How to sign up and earn 50,000 Qantas Points
Admittedly, buying 20,000 litres of fuel within six months is pretty much impossible for most individuals. Clearly, this is aimed at large companies with multiple vehicles. However, spending $150 per month on fuel for most is relatively easy.
To sign up to BP Plus, you must have an ABN, which you can get on the ABR website. Once you have an ABN head to the BP Plus signup page, and check the promo code QBRLAUNCH2020 is entered, then click ‘Start new application’ to fill out and submit the (very long) form.
0% card service fees with American Express
When you pay your BP Plus account with a MasterCard or Visa you will incur a 0.46% and 0.42% card service fee respectively, however, if you use an American Express card, you can skip the fees.
