Fiji Airways Confirms Nadi-Western Sydney Flights From March 2027
Fiji Airways becomes WSI's sixth airline, but it's a red-eye schedule.
Fiji Airways will begin flying between Western Sydney Airport, Australia's newest airport, and Nadi from 19 March 2027, becoming the sixth airline to sign on to Sydney's new gateway. Tickets for the Fiji flag carrier's new Western Sydney flights went on sale today, with introductory return fares to Fiji starting from just $639 AUD.
Fiji Airways will operate three times weekly between Nadi and Western Sydney, with flights every Monday, Friday and Sunday. Services will be operated by Boeing 737 MAX 8 narrowbody aircraft fitted with 162 economy seats and 8 recliner business class seats.
Fiji Airways is making the most of WSI's lack of curfew, unlike Kingsford Smith, but the Nadi-bound flight timing is somewhat brutal for passengers. The good news is that the schedule allows for seamless connections within Fiji, as well as Tonga, Samoa and other destinations across Fiji Airways' wider network.
- FJ991 Nadi to Western Sydney: Departs 7:10pm, arrives 10:55pm (5hr)
- FJ990 Western Sydney to Nadi: Departs 11:55pm, arrives 4:55am+1 (4hr)
The new route runs alongside Fiji Airways' existing twice-daily Nadi to Kingsford Smith flights, as well as its routes to Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Canberra (ending in February), the Gold Coast and Melbourne.

Fiji Airways CEO Paul Scurrah said the new Western Sydney route is a natural next step for the airline. "It is one of the fastest-growing regions in New South Wales, and a direct route there means easier, more affordable access for Australians looking to holiday in Fiji."
"Australia is our largest source market, and this new direct service further strengthens connectivity, creating new opportunities for tourism, trade and business travel while making Fiji more accessible than ever."
Fiji Airways Drops Sydney-Nadi Fares From $639
Fiji Airways is running a Western Sydney launch sale to mark the new route, with introductory return Economy Lite fares from $639 AUD and Business Class from $1,999 AUD. The sale runs from 9 to 23 September 2026, for travel between 19 March and 5 August 2027.
Sale fares can be booked at FijiAirways.com until sold out.
Booking With Qantas Points
Qantas Frequent Flyer members can book Fiji Airways flights using Qantas Points, thanks to their long-standing partnership (In fact, Qantas owns a 16% stake in Fiji Airways) and Fiji Airways being part of the Oneworld alliance. Classic Flight Rewards are available on eligible Fiji Airways flights, for both economy and business class.
Here's how many Qantas Points you need for a Classic Reward between Western Sydney and Nadi:
- Economy: 20,700 Qantas Points
- Business: 43,600 Qantas Points

Summing Up
Fiji Airways joins Qantas, Jetstar, Singapore Airlines, Air New Zealand and Vietjet as confirmed carriers at WSI, all locking in routes before the airport has even opened to passengers. WSI began cargo operations on 27 July 2026, with passenger services set to launch on 25 October 2026.
