Pocket 10,000 Qantas Points Points for $58

In this guide, we will be taking advantage of an excellent insurance deal offered by the good people of Woolworths Pet Insurance. Don’t have a pet? No worries, you will still be able to insurance your imaginary cat and walk away with a few Qantas Frequent Flyer Points or $100 worth of Woolworths groceries for around $58.

Note: we’ve tried hacking these insurance policies before with mixed results. Before you get stuck in be aware that you might need to chase up your points and set a reminder to cancel your policy (unless you really want it).

The Offer

From now until October 25 you can pocket 20,000 Everyday Rewards on your pet insurance when you use promo code BONUS20K. The only policies that pays out 20,000 points are Standard or Comprehensive.
In addition to your pet insurance, you will also get a 10% discount on all your groceries for 1 month so you could easily drive down the cost even further. For example, if you spend $500 (the discount is limited to $500 worth of shopping) a month on groceries, you would get a $50 discount which would almost cover your 2 months of pet insurance; nice!

How long?

According to the terms and conditions, points will be paid out after 45 days. This means you will need to keep your policy active for 2 months and make sure that you chase up the points on the 45-day mark if they don’t land in your account. The T&C reads: “Everyday Rewards points will be loaded within 45 days after the commencement date of the policy, provided all premiums being paid in full as long as the policy is still active and the account is not in arrears.”

Can I scale?

If you’re the entrepreneurial type, you’re probably thinking about scaling this offer. From what I can tell, it’s possible, but you are only allowed 1 policy per account. So this means you could also sign up under any dummy accounts you hold or use family members to increase your bounty further.

Cheapest Insurance?

I’ve played around with the calculator and the cheapest option is for a “domestic house cat”, desexed and a few years old. Postcode and gender of your pet don’t seem to increase the price but do feel free to experiment and see if you can find a cheaper deal (if you do, let me know in the comments!).

Targeted Offer?

The email I received states “This offer is personal to you, and will be available only on your Everyday Rewards Card.”. However, the chances are that if you hold an Everyday Rewards card, you too have received this special offer.
