Great news for those of us collecting Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles! Singapore Airlines has just scheduled an extra A380 to and from London for European summer 2020, which means there are a bunch of saver awards available in business and first class for redemption. They have swapped the 777-300ER for the new A380 (great news if you were initially scheduled on the 777, now is a great time to lock in your double bed suites!)

This is one of those cases where you want to book now and thing later. After all, it’s easy enough to cancel or change your flights.
The scheduled aircraft is one of the new A380’s which has been pulled from the Zurich route ( that means bad news if you were already scheduled on the new A380 too and from Singapore).
If you’re not sure what the hype is all about, I’ve reviewed this seat (including the double bed) on multiple occasions.

The A380 Schedule

The swap will be active from July 1, 2020, until August 31 2020, this means there will be quiet a few seats up for grabs in Saver.
The same will be true for the business class cabin; book now think later.

How to Avoid High Taxes Out Of London

If you’re flying out of London, you will be stung for at least 470GBP for 2 passengers. This works out to about AU$900, which is expensive (for Singapore Airlines). However, you can lower the taxes by departing from another European city (it comes down to about AU$200 per person).
For example, I booked BRU-LHR-SIN-HKG as a Star Alliance award redemption for only slightly more points but substantially less $$.
