Unlock 36,000 Velocity Points By Switching To AGL Mobile & Internet
AGL Mobile and Internet plans now come with bonus Velocity Points.
Velocity Frequent Flyers have a new way to significantly boost their points balance, as the loyalty scheme expands its partnership with AGL. Following previous promotions on AGL electricity and gas, you can now earn up to 36,000 Velocity Points on eligible AGL mobile and internet plans.
The offer rewards both new and existing AGL customers with monthly bonus Velocity Points over a six-month period. Bonus points are earned automatically each month when you remain on an eligible AGL mobile or internet plan.

The number of Velocity Points earned depends on your chosen plan. To earn the full 36,000 Velocity Points, you would need to sign up for both the AGL Large Mobile SIM and the AGL Home Ultrafast nbn. Then, you would collect 3,000 Velocity Points per month on each plan.
This offer is one of the most generous Velocity promotions currently available in the utilities category, and is available until varied or withdrawn by Velocity and AGL.
AGL Mobile - Earn Up To 18,000 Velocity Points
AGL offers a range of SIM-only mobile plans that earn bonus Velocity Points for the first six months of service.
These plans operate on the Optus 5G network, with unlimited calls and texts. There’s no lock-in contract and optional $5/day international roaming in select countries.

AGL Internet - Earn Up To 18,000 Velocity Points
AGL’s nbn internet plans also qualify for monthly Velocity Points over six months. All plans include unlimited data, but differ by speed.
Modems are sold separately, or you can use your own if compatible. As with mobile, there are no lock-in contracts.

Can I Scale This Offer?
While the terms and conditions are somewhat vague, they suggest this offer can be scaled by signing up for multiple new mobile numbers. Clause 2 states that to be eligible, you must be a new AGL mobile customer or “be a current AGL mobile customer and set up a new mobile number with AGL”. This indicates that existing customers can access the offer again by purchasing new mobile plans. The terms do not explicitly restrict the offer to once per person.
Theoretically, that means you could sign up for nine AGL Large SIM plans and earn 162,000 Velocity Points over six months, at a total cost of $2,700. That works out to 60 points per dollar spent, or a cost of 1.66 cents per point. It’s slightly more expensive than the recent 40% discount when buying Velocity Points outright.
Those points are enough to fly Qatar Business from the East Coast of Australia to Europe, a redemption that requires 158,500 Velocity Points. Booking the same journey with cash would require around $6,000.

That said, AGL may apply discretion if it detects misuse. The terms state that “AGL and Velocity reserve the right to revoke or prevent the allocation of any Velocity Points”. There’s no guarantee that scaling the offer will be honoured in full, so proceed with caution.
