Virgin Australia's latest flight sale offers return Economy fares to Europe from just $1,641. Of course, "Virgin Australia" is doing some heavy lifting here, since every one of these flights is operated by Qatar Airways via Doha. The early bird sale covers some of Europe's most popular cities, including Barcelona, Paris, Rome and London, with departures from Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.
Unless sold out prior, Virgin sale fares are available to book until 30 October 2026, for selected travel dates between 17 January and 14 March 2027, and from 17 April to 8 June 2027. You can book Virgin Australia sale fares here.
Velocity members can also earn up to 24,000 bonus Velocity Points on eligible return bookings, although Economy sale fares earn 6,000 and the top figure is reserved for Business Class.
Virgin Australia Chief Marketing Officer Libby Minogue encouraged travellers to book early while these flight deals are still available.

Earn Up To 24,000 Bonus Velocity Points
Alongside the sale, Velocity is offering bonus points on flights between Australia and Doha. The bonus is earned on each direct flight to or from Doha, meaning a return trip earns it twice. However, connecting flights between Doha and Europe don't earn any bonus.
To earn bonus Velocity Points, you must activate the offer here and book an eligible Doha flight by 30 October 2026, for travel between 17 January and 31 October 2027.
Only certain flights qualify for the bonus. These are the Qatar Airways services that operate on Virgin Australia's behalf between Australia and Doha. You'll recognise them by their flight numbers: VA1 to VA29 when booked as a Virgin Australia flight, or QR8390 to QR8409 when booked as a Qatar Airways flight.
Note that Qatar's own regular services don't qualify. The flight also needs to be one that would normally earn Velocity Points, and you must add your Velocity number to the booking before departure.

When Does Virgin Australia Have Sales?
Virgin Australia runs multiple flight sales throughout the year, although some periods are more reliable than others. Happy Hour sales are among the airline's most frequent promotions, typically launching every Thursday and featuring discounted fares on a limited selection of routes.
Larger Virgin Australia sales usually coincide with major shopping events such as Black Friday, Boxing Day and the End of Financial Year (EOFY). The airline also launches seasonal sales to encourage travel during quieter periods, along with occasional discounts on Economy X seat upgrades, Business Class fares and holiday packages.
If your travel dates are flexible, it's often worth waiting for a Virgin sale before booking. The biggest promotions often include millions of discounted fares across the network, while smaller flash sales may only run for a few days before selling out.
