Summing up: my take

I think Qantas must be one of the only airlines that charge a fee to join their frequent flyer program. Worst of all, Qantas has been offering free memberships for those living outside of Australia for years, and the family free offer appears to be running indefinitely.

Perhaps with a different email address. Thanks

    • Hi Jonathan, you could ask them for a refund but it’s unlikely there’s a free cancellation in the T&Cs. Personally, I would print out the invoice and keep it as a memento haha, we all make mistakes when it comes to frequent flyer points, and may this one be the start of a great points journey for you 😀
