Up To 40,000 Velocity Points With QBE Insurance

Velocity has just refreshed its partnership with QBE Insurance, giving members the chance to earn thousands of bonus Velocity Points on eligible insurance policies. The offer spans several insurance types, including car, home, landlord and small business protection.

Until 30 December 2026, customers can earn up to 40,000 Velocity Points per policy, with the ability to take out five types of insurance and receive bonus points on each one. Note the small business cover offer has an earlier promo end date of 1 December 2026.

For many Virgin flyers, this QBE promotion represents a significant travel boost, with 40,000 bonus Velocity Points being enough for a one-way Virgin Australia Business Class flight from Sydney to Perth, Fiji or Queenstown.

The QBE partnership is an easily accessible way for Velocity flyers to boost their Points balance on essentials they would be purchasing anyway. How To Earn Velocity Points With QBE Insurance

You can earn Velocity Points on the following QBE Insurance products:

• Home Insurance
• Landlord Insurance
• Comprehensive Car Insurance
• Third Party Property Damage Car Insurance
• Small Business Insurance

QBE offers an initial hit of Velocity Points for taking out a policy, and then a further bonus if you renew the policy after 12 months.

To receive the sign-up bonus Velocity Points, you must take out and then hold an eligible QBE Insurance product for at least 90 days, and make at least 1 premium payment in full. To receive further allocation of bonus Velocity Points after 12 months, you must renew the policy and continue to hold the policy for 90 days after renewal, and have made a renewal payment.

For both the new policy and renewal bonus, Velocity Points will be credited to your account within 95 days of the start or renewal date.

How Many Times Can I Earn Bonus Points?

Unfortunately, QBE has changed the fine print slightly for this refreshed offer. Previously, you could earn Velocity Points on multiple policies for the same risk.

Under the new T&Cs, Velocity Points can only be earned once per risk per insurance product. This means that if you have previously earned points on a specific car or property, it is locked out permanently even if the policy is later cancelled or a new policy is taken out on the same risk.

However, this restriction is tied to the individual risk, not to you as a policyholder. If you buy a different vehicle or insure a property that hasn't previously earned Velocity Points, it should be eligible for a fresh bonus.

Members are also capped at five insurance products per Velocity membership in total, across all product types.

QBE Comprehensive Car Insurance - 40k Velocity Points

Get covered for damage to your own car and damage you cause to other vehicles or property. Eligible QBE Comprehensive Car Insurance policies earn up to 40,000 Velocity Points:

• 30,000 Points for taking out a new policy online
• 10,000 Points after your first renewal

QBE Third Party Car Insurance - 20k Velocity Points

This policy covers damage you cause to other people’s vehicles or property, but does not cover damage to your own car. Eligible QBE Third Party Property Damage policies earn up to 20,000 Velocity Points:

• 15,000 Points for taking out a new policy online
• 5,000 Points after your first renewal

QBE Home Insurance - 40k Velocity Points

Covers your home buildings, contents or both, depending on the policy you choose. Eligible QBE Home Insurance policies earn up to 40,000 Velocity Points:
